Oculus Quest 2 VR headset revealed

Facebook Connect isn't due to take place for another couple of days, but the company accidentally published two key announcement videos early. As rumoured, we will indeed be seeing the Oculus Quest 2 announced and launched later this week. 

The Facebook Blueprint website accidentally posted two videos, one introducing the Oculus Quest 2 and another diving into the technical details behind the upgrade. According to Facebook, this is the most advanced all-in-one VR headset to date.

The Oculus Quest 2 VR headset will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 SoC, 6GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage and a big resolution bump compared to the original Quest. Audio has been upgraded and apparently, the Touch controllers have also received some ergonomic changes, although it is difficult to point these out based on the images we currently have.

All original Quest games will carry over and work on the Quest 2. In terms of overall design, the headstrap has been changed and the headset itself is a bit smaller and lighter compared to the original.

We should get more details on Wednesday the 16th of September – Facebook's intended launch date.
