Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take 20-30 hours to complete

Over the years we have seen the Assassin’s Creed franchise balloon from a small-scope stealth title to an open-world RPG with literally hundreds of hours of content. With this great shift however we have seen some fans move away from the series. For those yearning to return to the roots of Assassin’s Creed the upcoming AC: Mirage will be much closer to the classic Assassin’s Creed games lengthwise.

As shared by the Assassin’s Creed focused channel ‘Access the Animus’, French YouTuber Julien Chieze interviewed the lead producer for the upcoming AC Mirage – Fabian Salamon. As part of this, Salamon was asked about how long it would take to complete the game. While earlier AC titles could be finished in a couple dozen hours or so, the shift to a more open-world RPG-like system with Assassin’s Creed Origins and beyond has seen gametime balloon to well over 100 hours on average.

Fortunately, Mirage will not be such a daunting experience, with the Lead Producer revealing that based on recent playtests an average playthrough of Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take roughly 20-24 hours. While already encouraging in its own right, perhaps the most important revelation was the fact that a completionist run of the upcoming stealth title will take a maximum of around 30 hours.

With AC: Mirage, it is quite clear that Ubisoft have listened to fans and are not only making the main story a much more palatable experience, but have also scaled back the many side quests and random collectibles required for a 100% completionist playthrough. It will be highly interesting to see how fans ultimately feel about Assassin’s Creed Mirage when the game comes out on the 12th of October.
