Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero to receive new modes, crossplay and more throughout 2027

The Dragon Ball games are known for receiving a great deal of post-launch support, with the likes of Xenoverse 2 being updated for almost an entire decade following its 2016 release. The latest entry, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, appears to be likewise seeing plenty of updates and DLC – with Bandai Namco officially unveiling its latest roadmap; stretching to late 2027.

Detailing its latest roadmap, the teams at Bandai Namco / Spike Chunsoft offered a look at the next year’s worth of free and paid additions coming to Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero:

Fall 2026

  • Legendary Warrior Face-off [Free Event]

Winter 2026

  • New Tower of Power mode – “A single-player challenge mode where even stronger enemies appear as you ascend the floors” [Free]

Dragon Ball Roadmap

Spring 2027

  • Tower of Power team-up [Free co-op Update]
  • Mission 100 SP [Free Update]
  • Survival Mode SP [Free Update]

‘After’ Summer 2027

  • Crossplay [Beta Test]
  • New playable character [Paid DLC]

It is worth noting that those playing the Switch 1 / 2 version of Sparking! Zero will be on a slightly different update schedule, with the likes of Tower of Power not arriving in any form until the Summer 2027 update. Similarly, the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC – which arrived on all other platforms back in July – won’t be coming to Switch until Spring of next year.

Either way, for the 5+ million players who have enjoyed Sparking! Zero so far, there is still plenty more to look forward to over the coming year.
