Following the game’s delay, a Dead Island 2 Showcase has been announced

Dead Island 2 has had a long and seemingly arduous development life. With the sequel first being announced all the way back in 2014, we are finally mere months away from the game’s release. Following the title’s most recent (and final) delay, a Dead Island 2 showcase has now been announced.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Dead Island page said “Save the date, Slayers. We're rolling out the bloody red carpet for our Dead Island 2 Showcase on December 6th, 8pm GMT | 9pm CET | 1pm PT, and you're invited to watch the premiere here: https://youtu.be/wMrwcmG3eqk #DeadIsland #SeeYouInHELLA.”

As mentioned, Dead Island 2 recently received a last-minute delay, seeing the game being pushed from its December 2022 release to the 28th of April 2023 – with the team at the time saying “It’s not what we wanted to do. We wanted to do it right – announce the game in style, put a release date on it, launch on time and celebrate a job well done. We waited until we were SURE of our release date before we announced Dead Island 2. So the irony isn’t lost on us”.

While unfortunate, after almost a decade of waiting, what’s a few more months? Still, delays are always somewhat concerning and so hopefully whatever the Dead Island 2 team has planned for this showcase will alleviate this. We will have to wait and see.
