Back in May, the long-awaited 007 First Light was finally released, proving to be both a commercial and critical success. That said, one of the few issues some players had was its relative lack of content and replayability. Aiming to solve this issue, IO Interactive have now released their first big free ‘DLC’ for the game, introducing new modes, difficulties, missions and much more.
Being announced and released simultaneously, IOI have published patch 1.3.0 for 007 First Light. Dubbed the ‘Extended Operations’ DLC, this latest update brings a welcome number of new additions across the board.
The full suite of changes, additions and 700+ fixes can be found HERE, but some of the most notable include:
- New Game+
- Allows you to freely switch between your gadgets on demand
- Includes new ‘00’ Difficulty option [greater enemy awareness, fewer resources]
- You can now switch outfits at will during missions
- Photo Mode
- ‘Valhalla Protocol’ TacSim Activity
- ‘Jungle Heist’ TacSim Operation
- Two new weapons [Storm 12 Gauge, Squire Marksman Rifle]
- Three new outfits
- Combat improvements
- Refined weapon handling animations across the board
- Players can now be thrown off ledges by enemies
As mentioned, one of the few complaints with 007 First Light is its relative lack of content and replayability. With the addition of a NG+ mode, new weapons, TacSim missions and more however, there should be plenty of reasons to hop back in.
While already a good deal of new content, IOI have committed to continue to build upon First Light throughout the year, promising even more weapons; gadgets; upgrades; TacSim missions; post-game story content and more. Full details on the Extended Operations DLC can be found HERE.
