The First Descendant x Nier: Automata announced

While we’ve yet to get a brand new console NieR game since 2017’s Automata, the IP has not been dormant, with countless games crossing over with Square Enix’s burgeoning franchise. Following on from the likes of Stellar Blade; Soul Calibur; Granblue Fantasy; Gravity Rush and many more, series favourites 2B and A2 are now coming to The First Descendant.

During their PAX East panel, the team at Nexon Games officially detailed many of the changes and additions coming with Season 3 of The First descendant.

Alongside new areas; a hover bike; social space; weapon categories and more, Season 3 will cross over with NieR: Automata, in what is the game’s first collaboration.

Said to be offering cosmetic items, the crossover has only had sparring details revealed, with producer Beomjun Lee stating during the panel “the collaboration will focus on decorations, as we are in the process of solidifying the substance of our game, we decided to invest more in the content of Season 3 rather than other content related to the NieR: Automata collaboration.”

In what is perhaps an attempt to bolster eyes on The First Descendant (which has struggled to remain relevant past its initial launch), the crossover will also include a damaged version of 2B’s skin, which according to Lee will feature “no skirt, with other motions and decorations as well.”

Further details on the crossover will arrive at some point “soon” alongside an official trailer. The full list of changes and additions coming with Season 3 can be found HERE.
