TMNT: The Last Ronin gets first trailer

Last year we reported that a AAA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game was in development, with the announcement coming via an issue of Toy World Magazine. Since then, the game was confirmed to be an adaptation of the much-loved TMNT: The Last Ronin graphic novel. Now, the game has been formally announced with a cryptic teaser trailer.

Announced during THQ Nordic’s recent showcase, the publisher gave fans their first official look at TMNT: The Last Ronin. Though merely a CGI trailer, the teaser’s muted colours and tone does translate the mature vibes of the source material. No release date nor a release window was given, with the game simply stated to be “in development.”

That said, we did get one piece of interesting concept art alongside a description for the game, which reads as follows: “Who is the Last Ronin? In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lone surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost. From the minds of the creators of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and based on the best-selling comic book event by Eastman, Waltz, Bishop, Delgado, and the Escorza Brothers: the official video game adaptation of TMNT: The Last Ronin.”

For those who have not read the graphic novels, the less you know about the story the better, and so this teaser trailer has certainly done its job in that regard. Hopefully we get to see more from the game soon. TMNT: The Last Ronin is in development for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
