Wuchang: Fallen Feathers creator returns, officially announcing a sequel

Recently, we reported that 2025’s souls-like Wuchang: Fallen Feathers had hit a new milestone, amassing a total of 5 million players. While a bittersweet announcement at the time – given that the studio behind the game ‘Leenzee’ was shut down just a few months ago – it appears as though any internal issues have since been resolved, with Wuchang’s creator officially set to return for a sequel.

Making the surprise announcement via a press release, Wuchang publisher 505 Games revealed that a sequel is on its way, writing:

“WUCHANG’s story is far from over. Today, we’re excited to share that 505 Games has officially entered into a new partnership with Xia Siyuan, the original creator of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, and his new studio Indolphinity (Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology), to jointly create a brand‑new chapter of the WUCHANG IP.”

Fallen Feathers Sequel

As mentioned, the original studio behind Wuchang: Fallen Feathers was Leenzee. Headed by Xia Siyuan, the creator reportedly departed the studio, leading to the remaining devs being told “to shift to outsourcing or support work tied to other projects” – ultimately leading to the team’s disbanding.

With Xia Siyuan back and partnering with 505 Games once again, here’s to hoping that new studio Indolphinity manages to have a healthier development. The sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is currently in its “preparation phase.”

KitGuru says: What do you think of this announcement? Are you surprised given the fate of the studio? What would you like to see them improve upon with the sequel? Let us know down below.
