World’s largest lego model – Full scale X-Wing

The World's largest lego model is a 1:1 scale replica of an X-Wing, complete with R2 unit. It is made up from 5,335,200 lego bricks and took 32 lego master builders 17,336 hours to create.

This full scale replica stands 11 foot tall and 43 ft long, with a wingspan of 44 ft. The weight of 20,865 kg means you won't be carrying it around to your friends house.

The model was constructed in the Czech Republic as a celebration for the upcoming premiere of the Lego Star Wars based three part animated series, The Yoda Chronicles on Cartoon Network. The Lego X-Wing is now currently on display in New York's Times Square. It will be moved to Legoland California Resort in the coming months.

Kitguru says: Obviously this won't be made available to consumers, the cost of the bricks alone would be astronomical. However if you have the space to build one, then perhaps you could come up with your own, similar project.
