AMD FX 8 core spotted at Gamescom – running Dirt 3

Kitguru is over at Gamescom and we managed to snag a shot of the upcoming AMD 8 core FX box. This is one of the most awaited new releases from AMD, with fanboys already sitting on the edge of their chairs, credit card in hand.

Will you be holding this box very shortly when the product hits retail?

And we managed to get a screenshot of Dirt 3 running with the upcoming 8 core design. We can't give any performance figures just yet, but obviously as it happens, we will keep you updated !

  1. Looking forward to this release. the ‘FX’ name brings back many good memories.

  2. I really really really want to dump my Q6600.

  3. Do we have a release date yet? The web is filled with mutterings of Sept 19th or Sept 26th.

  4. Yeah I hear mid sept, but I dont think its confirmed at all yet officially anyway.

  5. Nobody else noticed the ‘a little too big box’? Maybe it’s the ultra-high-end-actually-a-little-bit-over-midrange watercooled edition, that would be so sweeeeeeeeeet. (if it’s true, of course)
Can’t wait to see the new line, maybe the phenom’s prices will go down a little bit, too.

  6. One thing is for sure, it’s Black Edition

  7. I am one of those fanboys sitting on the edge of my chair credit card in hand.

  8. Why such low CPU usage it seems only 3 core have any workload
and I thought Bulldozer cores were supposed to work in pair and work
    as modules

  9. yea, look how that turned out.
