AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black Edition Review – overclocking performance

The Intel 655k was a dual core processor with hyperthreading enabled. It didn't prove to be a huge seller for Intel, although with high end air cooling it was possible to get it stable at 4.8ghz. The 655k can still be bought in the UK for £190 inc vat although it is being discontinued. We felt it would be interesting to compare the AMD X4 975 Black Edition against this processor at reference speeds.

We also decided to give both processors a run through with Super Pi Mod 1.5 with an 8 million calculation.
