Microsoft to have ‘greatest games lineup in Xbox history’ at E3

Ever since Microsoft's disastrous press conference at E3 2013, the company has been hard at work in an attempt to turn things around. E3 2014 went fairly well, with several interesting game announcements taking place but according to Phil Spencer, 2015's conference will have the “greatest games lineup in Xbox history”.

As you would hope, Microsoft does have new IP to announce next month, which Spencer announced over on Twitter. Overall, this year's press conference is said to have a larger focus on first-party games. This isn't the first time Spencer has boasted about Microsoft's 2015 lineup, a while back he mentioned that some games may need to be pushed in to 2016 in order to avoid an over-crowded holiday season.

The biggest game Microsoft has launching this year is Halo 5: Guardians, which has an October release date. Recently one new IP, Quantum Break, was pushed back to 2016 but it looks like a Gears of War re-release is on the horizon as beta test footage of the game leaked on to the web.

E3 has a busy schedule this year, the big announcements kick off on Sunday the 14th of June with Bethesda. Then on Monday the 15th we'll hear from Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Sony (in that order). Tuesday is a little less packed with Square Enix, Nintendo and the PC Gaming Show.
