Apple goes after Samsung again in amended lawsuit

The relative peace between Apple and Samsung following trial results in California and Japan has come to an end. Over the weekend Apple has amended a previous lawsuit that targeted only the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to include “at least” 21 new devices. The Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 10.1, and given Apple's choice of words the Galaxy Note II could also be added to the list.

Twenty-two Samsung devices are currently at risk, for allegedly infringing up to eight of Apple's patents. The major ones of note are related to data detection, word completion, slide to unlock and universal search. This last patent is what resulted in a temporary sales injunction of the Galaxy Nexus earlier in the year and is also the basis of this amended lawsuit.

KitGuru says: Apple will be confident coming off their last and somewhat significant $1.049 billion win in California and will want to capitalize on that.
