Huawei Ascend W1 set to be an affordable Windows Phone

We saw got a glimpse of an affordable Windows Phone 8 handset from Huawei back in October dubbed the Ascend W1 and now TechBlog.gr have got their hands on the device.

The unit they had some hands on with is in blue, as per previous leaks, but it would be fairly safe to assume that Huawei will offer the device in other colours as well. Aside, the HTC and Nokia design inspirations are rather obvious but regardless, it looks like a neat affordable phone.

Specifications are said to include a 4 inch, WVGA display, a 1.2 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait processor, a 5 MP camera with LED flash, NFC and a 2000 mAh battery.

TechBlog suggests that the Huawei Ascend W1's price “will not exceed $200” and is believable given Huawei's past devices and the entry level nature of the phone.

KitGuru says: If you're looking into the Windows Phone platform but aren't willing to shell out for a flagship, this will definitely be a device to consider once it launches.
