Mionix Nash 20 Headset Review

The Mionix company founder obviously spends a lot of time around cash. This headset is so understated that it belies the modest price point. The ear muffs are absolutely luxurious, gliding over ears like a pair of soft slippers.

The materials used are spot on and wearing the Mionix Nash 20 for extended sessions would cause no stress to your head whatsoever – this is important to mention as many headsets (both cheap and expensive) can be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time.

The Mionix Nash 20 is a wired headset – so you will always have to deal with a trailing cable, however the sound quality is excellent. But then we come to the feature set, which include the ‘simulated surround' that is never going to be as good as having multiple drivers in each headphone.

Lastly, there is the volume. Or the lack of it. Sure, not every headset will clear your ear canal like a pair of Medusa NX headphones, but the urge to ‘Turn up' the Mionix Nash 20 – even when it is already on full volume – is a constant source of irritation.

In a very competitive market, the Mionix Nash 20 offers quality over quantity but if you like high levels of volume then you may want to look elsewhere.

Pros

  • Gorgeous choice of materials.
  • Simple, slick design – enough to make a stealth fighter jealous.
  • Audio is clear and crisp on quieter tracks.
  • Microphone quality is spot on and ‘Flip up to mute' is a useful function.
  • Volume control on the headset.

Cons

  • Not enough volume.
  • High price for a headset that's missing features like true surround sound.

KitGuru Worth Considering
KitGuru says: Certainly a luxury headset, and worth considering if you want to pamper your ears like little kings. That said, we'd be tempted to see what comes from the collaboration with SK. For now – to make this headset a ‘Must Have' – it really needs a lot more decibels.
