During the Ryzen 7000 series announcement, AMD confirmed it would launch Zen 4-based chips with 3D V-Cache sometime later, without specifying a date or a period. Previous rumours claimed we would see them later this year, but a new report suggests it will take slightly longer.

According to Twitter leaker, Greymon55, AMD is planning three new Ryzen 7000 CPUs with 3D V-Cache – a  Ryzen 9 7950X3D, a Ryzen 9 7900X3D and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

It is claimed that these three chips will launch during CES 2023, although while they might be announced at CES, availability might not arrive until a bit later. Either way, the turnaround is much quicker compared to the previous generation. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D didn't arrive until roughly 18 months after the launch of Ryzen 5000.

Despite confirming the release of such Zen 4-based chips with 3D V-Cache, AMD hasn't yet shared any details about them. If AMD uses 96MB of cache per CCD, we could see the 7950X3D feature as much as 192MB of L3 cache.

KitGuru says: It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact the extra cache will have on gaming performance. There were some interesting results with the 5800X3D, and AMD has had time to further perfect the technology since then.
