Intel Core i9-14900K Geekbench results leak

Following the CPU-Z benchmark results of the upcoming Intel Core i9-14900K, a leaker has now found three Geekbench entries featuring the 14th Gen Core flagship CPU.

The Core i9-14900K has 8x P-Cores and 16x E-Cores, with the former capable of reaching a 6.0 GHz clock speed, as seen on the Geekbench entries (1, 2, and 3) shared by @Benchleaks. Furthermore, the testing was carried out on a Biostar Z790 Silver motherboard with DDR5-4800 memory.

In the Geekbench 6.1 benchmark, the CPU scored between 3121 and 3140 points in the single-core benchmark and between 19032 and 19134 points in the multi-core test. Comparing these scores with the official Geekbench benchmark charts, the Core i9-14900K outperforms the Core i9-13900K, but only in the single-core test (6% faster). In multi-core testing, the Core i9-14900K CPU was 4% slower.

Although the Core i9-14900K's performance in multi-core scenarios may seem underwhelming, there are a few things worth taking into consideration when comparing its scores. For starters, the Core i9-14900K dataset is much smaller. Then, the motherboard or BIOS used for testing may not be properly optimised for this CPU. Lastly, the CPU was paired with DDR5-4800 memory. All these things could negatively impact performance. The 14th Gen Core K-series CPUs should launch later this year.

KitGuru says: Although we don't expect any major performance gains over its predecessor, the Core i9-14900K will almost certainly be faster than the i9-13900K, even if only for its higher clock speed.
