Rick and Morty creator’s first VR effort is fun nonsense

Job Simulator showed us that it doesn't really matter if what you're doing in virtual reality is ridiculous, it can be fun all the same, especially if it's funny. That's the ball that Justin Roiland's Squanchtendo has taken and it's run with it in the first VR release from the Rick and Morty creator, alongside William Pugh, the mind behind the Stanley Parable.

Pugh's new venture, Crows Crows Crows teamed up with Squanchtendo to produce Accounting, a bizarre 15-20 minute experience that sees you playing music on skeletal instruments, cutting open kings and defending yourself in VR court, all while being yelled at, instructed and questioned by a number of bizarre characters. Funnily enough, a few of them have Morty-esque speech patterns and voices.

Thanks to UploadVR for recording this handy mixed reality footage, as it gives you a much better idea of what it's actually like playing the game. It's a series of short experiences all linked together with a single theme, gradually progressing you through various virtual realities. Much like the Rick and Morty show, it takes full advantage of the impossibilities of VR, letting you experience ridiculously believable situation after ridiculously believable situation.

All the while with Stanley Parable-like self-aware narration.

The best part about this all though? Accounting is entirely free. If you have an HTC Vive, you can play it on Steam now.

KitGuru Says: While I didn't find much beyond additional dialogue in our time with Accounting, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few secrets in there. Let us know if you find any.
