Google has finally begun rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to older Nexus devices, including the Nexus 5, 2012 Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. Google originally announced the latest OTA update on Wednesday but the update isn't available for all devices so far.

3G and LTE versions of the Nexus 7 tablet are yet to receive the update, the same goes for the Nexus 4, this indicates that the release is being staggered and may take a while to hit all devices in all territories. Motorola swiftly followed in Google's footsteps and announced the Android Lollipop update for its own devices.

In Motorola's blog post the company said: “We've started to roll out Lollipop in phases just a week after the public release of the software to the following devices in the US: Moto X (2nd Gen.) Pure Edition, Moto G (2nd Gen.) US GSM, and Moto G (2nd Gen.) Global GSM retail versions sold in the US.”

LG has yet to announce its rollout plans for all devices but has confirmed that the update will be rolling out to G3 handsets over the next few weeks, starting in Poland. Nvidia's Shield tablet will also be among the first devices to get the update, Android Lollipop will start rolling out on the 18th of November, granting owners access to Nvidia's massive new cloud gaming service powered by Grid servers.
