MSI Claw 7 AI+ and Claw 8 AI+ handhelds to release in January

MSI's Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ gaming handhelds have apparently had their release date pushed to 2025. Although the first listings were pointing to a release on December 26th, it looks like the launch date has been pushed back to January 15th.

While MSI's official US store (Claw 8 AI+, Claw 7 AI+) shows the new January 15th release date, retailer listings on Amazon and Newegg (via VideoCardz) show conflicting information. Amazon has removed the release date for the Claw 8 AI+ altogether, while listing the Claw 7 AI+ for release on February 4th. Newegg, on the other hand, indicates a January 18th launch date for both models (1, 2).

Despite being mentioned on its official product page, MSI has yet to list the more affordable version of the Claw 8 AI+ with the Core Ultra 7 256V and 16 GB of memory. Considering the 32 GB model will have an MSRP of $899, the lower-specced handheld will certainly come cheaper (while probably performing similarly).

We expect to learn more about MSI's upcoming gaming handhelds at CES 2025, which will be running from January 7th to the 10th.
