“Big” Capcom game to be announced later this year, claims leaker

Ever since around 2017, Capcom has seemed to be on quite a roll, releasing a whole bunch of major AAA successes including but not limited to Resident Evil VII, Village, RE2, 3 and 4 remakes, Monster Hunter: World, Street Fighter VI and so many more. According to a known Capcom insider, the publisher is planning to reveal a “Big” new game later this year.

As shared by Twitter user Darkknight2149, known industry insider Dusk Golem took to ‘The Snitch’s Discord server to tease a number of unannounced games, saying “without me getting specific, I know a few unannounced horror games I'm quite excited about, I now pretty much know every big RE game releasing over the next several years, I know some other Capcom stuff, I know some Square stuff, I know some SEGA stuff, know some other misc things that are pretty cool.”

That said, the leaker then went on to only share news on what Capcom is cooking, responding to a question on Resident Evil 9’s release year, saying “2025, I’ll say that much, though probably will be announced next year.”

Perhaps more exciting is the fact that Dusk Golem then claimed that “There's a big Capcom game being announced at the end of this year that's releasing in Fall 2024.”

Ever since the overwhelming success of Monster Hunter World, fans have been eagerly anticipating a direct sequel. It will be interesting to see what Capcom is planning to announce later this year.
