Razer launches new Mako and Mako X desktop speakers

Razer has introduced the Mako and Mako X, two new compact desktop gaming speaker sets aimed at delivering fuller sound and deeper bass without taking up much desk space. Both models include Razer Chroma RGB lighting and USB‑C connectivity, offering two different configurations depending on whether you want a 2.1 setup or a smaller 2.0 one.

The Mako is the larger of the two, pairing custom‑tuned 2.75‑inch full‑range drivers with a dedicated forward‑firing 3.5‑inch subwoofer. The 2.1 system delivers 40W RMS (60W peak) with a frequency response down to 45Hz, and uses an angled desktop design to project audio toward ear level. Razer includes 7.1 virtual surround processing, Bluetooth 5.3 and a 3.5mm input, while a single USB‑C cable handles both power and audio. Rear‑projection Chroma RGB lighting casts ambient colour onto the wall behind the desk.

The Mako X offers a smaller 2.0 configuration, using the same 2.75‑inch full‑range drivers but replacing the subwoofer with built‑in passive radiators to extend low‑end response. It delivers up to 30W RMS (45W peak) with a frequency response down to 60Hz, and can run on standard USB power at up to 15W, with higher output available through a 30W USB‑C source. Like the Mako, it supports USB‑C, Bluetooth 5.3 and 3.5mm input. Lighting is more subtle here, with a 10‑zone Chroma RGB underglow beneath each speaker.

The Razer Mako will be available in December for £149.99 / $149.99 / €159.99. The Mako X arrives earlier, launching on October 6th for £99.99 / $99.99 / €109.99.
