Lian Li debuts Edge Hub Adv featuring automatic 12V-2×6 GPU cable shutdown

Lian Li has introduced the Edge Hub Adv, an updated USB‑controlled fan and accessory hub that adds active thermal protection for 12V‑2×6 GPU power cables. Available in black or white, the unit combines internal USB expansion, fan control and hardware‑level temperature monitoring.

Two sensor ports on the Edge Hub Adv (via Guru3D) connect to negative‑temperature‑coefficient sensors embedded in an included 650mm 12V‑2×6 cable. When paired with Lian Li’s L‑Connect 3 software, the hub can display real‑time connector temperatures and flag abnormal thermal behaviour that may indicate poor seating or increased resistance at the plug.

Beyond thermal monitoring, the Edge Hub Adv includes four USB 2.0 headers and seven PWM fan headers, with one dedicated to motherboard synchronisation. Dual USB controllers route data across separate channels to avoid bandwidth congestion when multiple devices are connected. Power can be supplied directly from compatible Lian Li Edge power supplies or via a standard 8‑pin PCIe connector from any PSU, with internal USB 2.0 or 3.0 headers used for motherboard connectivity.
