Crimson Desert Charting the Unknown DLC delayed

Earlier this summer, Pearl Abyss officially revealed the first story DLC for Crimson Desert, titled “Charting the Unknown”. While this story expansion was originally planned to release in mid-October, it has been delayed.

In an update shared on X this afternoon, Pearl Abyss confirmed that it is going to need an extra couple of weeks to ‘polish' the DLC, saying: “We are hard at work on Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown to bring you new adventures to Pywel. However, we have determined that we need additional development time to deliver a more polished and stable gameplay experience.”

Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown will now release on the 29th of October instead.

Uncharted Unknown will feature some very different gameplay elements compared to the base game. In this DLC, players will get the opportunity to sail their very own boat, and explore deep underwater areas for the first time. The new DLC also promises to bring about new enemy types and secret loot to discover.

KitGuru Says: Crimson Desert has been one of my favourite games of 2026, so I'm looking forward to the DLC. Fortunately in this instance, the delay isn't too long, so we'll still get a chance to return to Pywel before the end of October.
