First announced almost exactly 3 years ago back during Gamescom 2023, the free-to-play open-world ‘Ananta’ drew a ton of attention due to the sheer variety on offer, with the NetEase published title seemingly featuring elements from GTA; Spider-Man; Prototype; Uncharted and countless others. Shown off once again at this year’s Gamescom, Ananta has now gotten an official release date.
Showing off a story-focused trailer during Gamescom 2026, Ananta has officially gotten a concrete release date – with the free-to-play title set to launch on PC, PS5 and mobile on the 15th of January 2027.
Unlike a majority of free-to-play games released nowadays, the teams at Naked Rain / NetEase previously confirmed that Ananta won’t feature any gacha elements for its suite of characters.
Instead, monetisation is said to be handled through cosmetics; though the exact extent of how this will work is unknown for now.
Regardless, Ananta's release looks set to be rather exciting. All-encompassing gameplay aside, the narrative and dialogue itself appears to be rather self-aware, and so it will be interesting to see what players think of the game when they finally get their hands on it early next year.
