Sonic Racing: Crossworlds Year-Two includes FFVII; Persona and Hello Kitty crossovers

Sonic Racing: Crossworlds has proven to be a hit, owing to its fun gameplay, variety of characters and an abundance of content supplemented by a solid amount of both free and paid DLC. Continuing to add to the game, SEGA has now officially unveiled its year two plans for Sonic Racing: Crossworlds; bringing with it a bunch of new characters; stages; modes and much more.

Last month, SEGA officially confirmed that Sonic Racing: Crossworlds would be getting a second year’s worth of updates and DLC, teasing some of what’s in store including confirmation that Bayonetta and Godzilla would be joining the race.

As part of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds World Championship finals, SEGA hosted a livestream in which they unveiled the full year two roadmap (with some exceptions) beginning this November.

Split between free and paid DLCs, those who purchase Season Pass Two (for £24.99) will be treated to a number of unexpected crossovers:

  • Pack 1: Godzilla
  • Pack 2: Evangelion
  • Pack 3: Hello Kitty
  • Pack 4: Segaland
  • Pack 5: Final Fantasy VII
  • Pack 6: Persona 3/4/5

Each of these packs (except Godzilla and Segaland) will include characters, vehicles and a new stage, with some other bonuses including karts inspired by classic SEGA consoles – and access to Super Shadow for those who own both Season Passes.

Those who own the base game meanwhile will not be left out, with 8 free DLC characters/vehicles set to release over the next year including Bayonetta; Aigis from P3 and a McLaren collaboration. That’s not all however, with other free additions including:

  • New Mode: Dual Match [1v1 against another player or CPU]
  • New ‘Grand Master’ plate [offerings 7 gadget slots and an amplified slot]
  • 15 new gadgets

For the uninitiated, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds’ gadgets is one of its most interesting mechanics, allowing you to augment your character/vehicle’s performance with different bonuses – be it enhanced drifting; faster boost accumulation; additional rings and tons more. Having 15 new gadgets as well as the Grand Master plate should allow for even more customisation and personality. Full details on the roadmap can be found HERE.

For the final cherry on top, SEGA also announced that Sonic Racing: Crossworlds has received a permanent price cut, going from its previous high of £64.99 to £34.99.
