Ubisoft accidentally reveals Dokkaebi, Rainbow Six Siege’s upcoming South Korean Attacker

Rainbow Six: Siege's Year 2 Season 4 is inbound, with Operation White Noise being officially revealed last week alongside a teaser for its upcoming map, Mok Myeok. It seems that Ubisoft has since revealed a little more than it intended, as details of its upcoming attacking operator come to life in an official blog post.

The post briefly appeared on the official Ubisoft website, detailing the new operator to be named Dokkaebi. It has since been deleted, but not before YouTuber Coreross captured the details ready for a video.

Dokkaebi is an attacker belonging to South Korea's 707th Special Mission Battalion, which Ubi describes as “stubborn and daring.” This is particularly shown by her introduction to the team, as Grace “Dokkaebi” Nam hacked her way into the organisation in a matter of days, simply to say “Hello, Rainbow Six.”

While her gadget is yet to be fully detailed, it heavily revolves around the gadget displayed on her right arm that will allow her to attempt some form of hacking. This could potentially relate to enemy cams, which could spell disaster for the enemy team, even more so if you're echo.

Coreross also makes a suggestion that she could potentially turn enemy gadgets in the favour of attackers, or disable them entirely. This is particularly interesting with Kapkan having been given more of his tripwires, some of this could be used against him with a Dokkaebi on the opposing team. Although this does conflict with the following quote of having the enemy in her “crosshairs.”

“We wanted an operator who went against the type,” according to the words of Lead Writer, Lucien Soulban. “Put an assault rifle in her hand and she's deadly, but use her special ability and the enemy team is in her crosshairs.”

Interestingly, Dokkaebi follows Ying as the second Attacker not to get an assault rifle among her primary selection. Instead, players will be able to choose from the MK14 EBR Marksman rifle or the BOSG 12.2 Shotgun, while making use of the C75 Auto and SMG-12 MPs as her secondary. The most interesting part of all is Ubisoft's mention of her “trickster streak, [which] can get you killed.” This is incredibly cryptic and most likely relates to her gadget.

More details will be revealed during the Rainbow Six: Siege Pro League Finals on November 19th.

KitGuru Says: It's long been speculated that an Attacking operator with access to Defender's cams, but worries were always surrounding just how balanced this would be. Still, it would present a massive change to the meta. What else could Dokkaebi's gadget be?
