Just Cause 4 leaked and a new IP revealed by Avalanche Studios

Avalanche Studios have a lot of projects going on right now. We already know that the team is co-developing Rage 2 with id Software, but yesterday two more games sprung out of the studio, as Just Cause 4 leaked on Steam and Avalanche revealed a brand new IP called ‘Generation Zero'.

Yesterday, Avalanche Studios officially announced Generation Zero, its own original IP. It is set to be an open-world action RPG set in an alternate version of 1980s Sweden, where hostile robots have taken over. The game will even feature four-player co-op, but can also be approached as a single-player experience. You can see the trailer for that below:

Shortly after Avalanche's announcement, Just Cause 4 mysteriously popped up on Steam, seemingly spoiling an upcoming E3 reveal. Just Cause 4 was also part of the major Walmart Canada E3 leak from a few weeks ago.

The Steam Store page didn't reveal much about the game, but we can expect to see it in action during E3. We don't have confirmation on whether or not it will be shown during Square Enix's own conference, but it could just as easily appear on the Sony or Microsoft stages.

While Just Cause 4 could potentially launch this year, Generation Zero has been confirmed for release in 2019.

KitGuru Says: I was sure towards the end of the trailer for Generation Zero the soundtrack was going to fade into the theme from Terminator 2 (sadly it didn’t). What do you make of this new IP from Avalanche Studios?
