Microsoft releases Windows File Recovery app

Many of us know the pain of running into a crash and losing data, or just deleting something by mistake. Soon, Microsoft will be offering something extra to help in that situation with the Windows File Recovery tool.

If you've misplaced a picture, document, video or audio file, the Windows File Recovery tool will allow you to retrieve it. It runs through the Command Line and can recover data from local drives, USB and also SD cards.

As reported by The Verge, there are two modes that can be used. The first is designed to recover files from a corrupted or formatted drive using the NTFS file system. The second mode allows you to recover specific file types across FAT, exFAT and ReFS file systems, but it will take longer to recover files using this method.

The Windows File Recovery tool can already be downloaded from the Microsoft Store, HERE.
