World of Warcraft: Shadowlands might be coming to Xbox Series X

Since its release all the way back in 2004, World of Warcraft has been exclusively available on PC hardware. Over the course of this console generation though, it has been proven that MMOs can work on set hardware with a gamepad. Now, it looks like World of Warcraft may end up on consoles, starting with the Xbox Series X.

This week, the Brazil classification board officially rated World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Interestingly, PC wasn't the only listed platform – the game was also rated for Xbox Series X.

This could of course be a mistake, as pointed out by Windows Central. However, it is also worth noting that Blizzard has been working on official controller support for World of Warcraft, which will debut with the Shadowlands expansion.

Blizzard has previously stated that gamepad support is for accessibility reasons and not a console release. However, this listing could end up proving otherwise.
