Blizzard announces WoW: Burning Crusade Classic

There were a number of leaks ahead of BlizzCon's big announcement stream last night, one of which was The Burning Crusade expansion for WoW Classic. As expected, Blizzard officially announced the new update last night, which will be available later this year.

Burning Crusade Classic is a new set of servers for WoW Classic that will allow players to progress beyond level 60 and explore the apocalyptic Outlands. The expansion is going to be released exactly how it was in 2007:

Back in the day, Blizzard had to nerf bosses in The Burning Crusade. When the expansion returns to WoW Classic later this year, it will be a pre-nerf version of the game, so some dungeons and raids will be harder than players may remember. According to Blizzard, the majority of WoW players are much more skilled at the game nowadays, so they should be able to handle bosses at their originally intended difficulty.

A specific release date for Burning Crusade Classic has not been announced but it will be available later this year, with beta testing due to begin soon.

KitGuru Says: Are any of you still playing WoW Classic? Will you be upgrading to Burning Crusade Classic once it comes out? Or are you going to stick to vanilla servers?
