Earlier this year, LucasFilm Games was officially revived and it was confirmed that the Star Wars games license will no longer be exclusive to EA. Around that same time, whispers about a Knights of the Old Republic remake began circulating once again and now, it is seemingly confirmed to be in the works at Aspyr.
Back in January, Jason Schreier revealed that a Knights of the Old Republic remake was in the works, but that we would “never guess” what studio was behind it. This week during an appearance on the MinnMax podcast, Schreier expanded on this, confirming that the studio he was referring to is Aspyr – the same studio behind the recent ports of KOTOR 1 and 2 for mobile and currently maintains KOTOR 2 on PC.
Adding on to this, Eurogamer's sources have also reported that Aspyr is leading work on the Knights of the Old Republic remake. Apparently some elements from KOTOR 1 and 2 will be combined in order to bring certain aspects into Star Wars cannon officially.
Unfortunately, that is all the information we have for now and we have no idea how far along the project is, so we could be waiting quite some time for an official announcement.

KitGuru Says: Aspyr has worked on the Knights of the Old Republic games for years now, to a point where they likely know the ins and outs of the game better than anyone else. With that in mind, they seem like a natural choice for a KOTOR remake – now we just have to wait and hope it lives up to expectations.
