THQ Nordic unveils ELEX II with new trailer

Back in 2017, Piranha Bytes released its best game to date, ELEX, promising a mix of Sci-Fi and post-apocalypse. Now this week alongside E3, THQ Nordic has officially announced ELEX 2, a full sequel set years after the events of the original game.

The announcement trailer for Elex 2 channels Doom vibes with our hero character taking down a number of demonic looking enemies with a metal track serving as the background music:

The official description for the sequel gives us a few more details on what to expect:

“The planet Magalan has seen some rather peaceful years after the Events of ELEX I: old factions have been vanquished, new factions have risen. The Berserkers’ attempts to regrow and terraform the lands have started to bear fruit. After the defeat of the Hybrid, the Albs are no longer a threat. However, our hero – Jax – returns with knowledge of a new menace that’s casting a shadow over Magalan. It falls to Jax to unite these different factions together to face this darkness together.”

Unfortunately, ELEX 2 does not have a release date yet, but it is set to come to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5.

KitGuru Says: The trailer doesn't give us much and unfortunately, there is no release date or release window yet, making it somewhat difficult to really get excited for this. Still, big fans of the original game should be pleased.
