You can now buy a Steam Deck without a reservation

Valve has been ramping up Steam Deck production and shipments all year. At this point, the company is on track to fulfil all reservations by the end of the year, and better yet, as of this week, you can just buy a Steam Deck straight away without sitting in a queue.

In an announcement last night, Valve revealed that Steam Deck is now available to purchase without a reservation. You can now just order one, pay for it and Valve will ship it out to you. No more sitting in queues for months hoping you still have the cash by the time you are invited to complete the order.

The Steam Deck Docking Station is also available now, so you can dock your Deck to a bigger screen and hook up peripherals for a more traditional PC gaming or living room gaming experience.

While this is true for now, if demand outstrips supply in some regions, then the queue system may temporarily be put back in place while Valve catches up on orders. For now, though, the company has them in stock and is managing to keep things that way.

KitGuru Says: I imagine this news will lead to an influx of new orders in time for Christmas. Have you already placed an order for a Steam Deck? Or are you planning to pick one up now that there's no queue system?
