Hoyoverse’s realistic Monster Hunter-like ‘Nodusfall’ announced at Gamescom

Hoyoverse is branching out from its usual anime‑styled, mobile‑friendly titles with a new project called Nodusfall. The game adopts a far more realistic art direction and shifts toward co‑op action, placing players in a grounded world where they’ll team up to hunt mythical beasts inspired by legends from around the world.

While Hoyoverse has built its reputation on games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, Nodusfall looks to be targeting a different audience entirely. The game’s detailed environments, large‑scale creature encounters and emphasis on co‑op combat draw clear comparisons to Capcom’s Monster Hunter series. With Hoyoverse’s massive global fanbase, Nodus Fall could be one of the few challengers capable of competing in that space, though it remains to be seen whether its existing audience, which typically gravitates toward anime‑style games, will make the jump to a more realistic action title.

Nodusfall is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, suggesting it will be a core PC and console release rather than a mobile title. The game is currently targeting a 2027 launch, which means it will be entering the market around the same time Monster Hunter Wilds receives its major expansion next year. Based on the footage shown, Nodusfall features highly detailed environments and large, cinematic battles, at times resembling the massive summon encounters seen in Final Fantasy XVI.

Hoyoverse has not yet confirmed platforms or additional gameplay details, but the studio is positioning Nodus Fall as a flagship project for its push into more realistic, high‑fidelity action games.
