AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 CPUs will reportedly launch in September 2023

Enthusiasts are curious to see what AMD will bring to the table with its next-gen HEDT and workstation CPUs. However, according to the latest reports, we still have quite a long wait ahead to get our hands on them.

Leaker chi11eddog has recently shared a few details about the AMD Storm Peak platform. This is the platform that will work as the foundation for the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Pro and non-Pro CPUs, which are rumoured to release in September 2023.

The leaker claims the Storm Peak HEDT chips (Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series) will feature 4-channel memory support, 64x PCIe 5.0 lanes, 8x PCIe 3.0 lanes and overclocking support. As for the Storm Peak workstation chips (Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Pro series), these are said to offer 8-channel memory support, 128x PCIe 5.0 lanes and 8x PCIe 3.0 lanes.

Previous rumours claimed the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 non-Pro chips would come with up to 64x cores and 128x threads, while the Pro ones could feature up to 96x cores and 192x threads.

KitGuru says: It is going to be a big year ahead for the HEDT market, with AMD's new-gen Threadripper CPUs hitting the market, and Intel launching its own ‘Sapphire Rapids' processors.
