Gran Turismo 7 update adds movie crossover and more

Since its release last year, the team at Polyphony Digital have been diligently updating Gran Turismo 7 with a whole host of new features, cars and modes. As part of the latest patch, GT7 has gotten a number of new vehicles as well as “a Gran Turismo movie experience.”

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, it was revealed that Gran Turismo 7 is being updated to patch 1.36 today, bringing with it “content celebrating the upcoming Gran Turismo movie, GT Café extra menus, 4 exciting new cars, and more.”

Going into specifics, this update (which is live right now) adds the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ‘18 from the upcoming PlayStation Productions film ‘Gran Turismo’ – which tells the true-life story of a GT player who eventually ended up becoming a real-life race car driver. The vehicle will be redeemable from now until the 28th of September.

Additionally, a new livery has been added recreating the GT-R from the film which can be picked when buying the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ’18 in-game.

As with pretty much every patch, 4 new cars have been added into the game, namely:

  • Chevrolet Corvette (C1) ‘58
  • Maserati MC20 ‘20
  • Toyota Ambulance Himedic ’21
  • Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition ‘22

Finally, a number of new Extra Menus have been added to the GT Café alongside a new ‘Fire Station’ Scrape for photo mode. Hopefully Polyphony Digital continues to update GT7 with this cadence.
