Patriot Viper PV553 PCIe 5.0 SSD arrives with up to 12.4 GB/s speeds

Patriot Memory has recently announced the latest addition to its SSD portfolio, the Viper PV553 M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD. This breakthrough SSD is designed to offer next-generation performance and features a unique active cooling mechanism.

The PV553 features a PCIe Gen 5 x4 controller and 232-layer TLC NAND that is fully compatible with NVMe 2.0 specifications. With an effective cooling heat shield, the PV553 stands out for its performance, delivering read/write speeds of up to 12,400 MB/s and 11,800 MB/s, respectively. To address overheating issues, the PV553 uses a unique cooling solution: an in-built fan that cools down the unit by drawing in cold air and sending it towards aluminium fins, resulting in a 40% heat reduction.

Patriot's new PCIe 5.0 SSD is designed to increase your performance. Its dual-sided high-conductivity thermal pad provides effective heat transmission to stacking fins, providing the excitement of next-generation storage performance by seamlessly merging PCIe Gen 5 controller technology with cutting-edge 3D NAND flash.

In addition, the Viper PV553 offers built-in data security and error correction, prolonging NAND flash storage life. With superior wear-levelling and automated error correction capabilities, it provides constant performance even after extended usage. Better yet, it is also covered by a 5-year warranty should you encounter any issues.
