Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection brings back the original games with multiplayer

During today's Nintendo Direct, we got another surprise Star Wars announcement, and it is one that is bound to make a lot of people happy. Aspyr is now releasing remasters for the original Star Wars: Battlefront games, complete with support for online multiplayer.

The Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is launching for PC, Xbox, PS5 and Switch on the 14th of March. The game will support up to 64-player online matches, so players can jump straight back in and relive the glory days prior to EA's Battlefront reboot series.

While the game will support modern resolutions don't expect a huge visual upgrade. It is still the old-school game complete with the older art and textures in place, but it will look sharper on modern displays.

The collection includes Battlefront 1 & 2, as well as bonus maps for both games and two new bonus heroes for Battlefront 2, including Asajj Ventress and Kit Fisto.
