Homelander finally arrives in Mortal Kombat next month

We've known about Mortal Kombat 1's DLC characters for a long time now, with leaks revealing guest characters like Homelander well ahead of the game's launch. Now all these months later, the Homelander DLC is finally arriving.

Mortal Kombat 1's Kombat Pack 1 DLC sold access to several new characters for the roster, including original characters like Quan Chi, Omni Man, Ermac and Takeda, as well as guest characters like DC's Peacemaker and The Boys' Homelander.

Now, the trailer for Homelander has dropped, giving us an early look at what to expect from his move-set. As you may expect, he plays a lot like Superman in Injustice 2, although to my eyes, he does appear to be a little faster, although it has been a few years since I've played Injustice 2 myself.

Homelander will roll out to all who purchased the Kombat Pack 1 DLC in June, but an exact date has yet to be specified. NetherRealm has not yet announced any plans for a second round of DLC characters, but with Summer Game Fest just around the corner, that could change.

Despite positive reviews from those that have given the game a chance, Marathon has reportedly only shifted an estimated 1.2M copies so far, with the vast majority of that coming from the PC market.
