Apple close to launching iTunes in Brazil

Brazilian music lovers will be pleased to hear that Apple are close to launching iTunes in their country. the music publishers group say they are almost ready to sign a deal with Apple which would offer iTunes within Latin America's largest nation.

The executive director Michaela Couto of the Brazilian Union of Music Publishers tells the O Globo newspapers that the negotiations are at an advanced stage and it could even happen as soon as mid December. Apple Brazil have not made a comment on the matter, although they are generally silent until the deal is struck and ready to go.
