Larian to expand Baldur’s Gate 3 mod tools

While Larian has mostly moved on from Baldur's Gate 3 at this stage, the studio is still thinking of ways to improve the game for fans. In a new community update, the studio confirmed plans to expand the modding kit further, opening up the door for more creative mods.

Mod support officially came to Baldur's Gate 3 in 2024, complete with a massive 100GB mod kit containing almost every asset in the game. Soon, Larian will expand the official modkit further to give creators even more freedom.

Larian opted to do this after observing the wonderful work the modding community has done over the past year. There are likely some more complex mods that fans have planned, but were not achievable with the current tools. That will hopefully change once the updated modkit becomes available.

Currently, Baldur's Gate 3 has a partial level editor but fans are hoping for a full level editor, which would enable completely custom campaigns, essentially turning Baldur's Gate 3 into a platform for all kinds of D&D experiences.

KitGuru Says: Baldur's Gate 3 has surpassed every expectation and Larian is still finding ways to surprise fans.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
