Years on from its initial release on PlayStation and PC, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is finally set to land on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox next week. In the lead-up to its launch, the team at Square Enix have confirmed that the PS5 and PC versions of the game will receive an update at the same time – bringing a number of welcome quality-of-life improvements.
Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the official Final Fantasy VII page wrote: “To celebrate Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launch day on Nintendo Switch 2 & Xbox, a patch for the PS5 and PC versions will launch next Thursday.”
Exact details on the extent of the patch have not been shared, however we did get an overview, with the update set to introduce:
- Streamlined Progression
- The ability to keep HP and MP topped up
- Option to always hit for 9,999 damage
While these features will also be available on the Switch and Xbox versions, having the ability to bypass battles will be especially useful for PC and PS5 players who are simply wanting to re-experience the story ahead of part 3’s release at some point in the future.
Though not recommended for a first time playthrough, having these options available is welcome to see. It’ll be interesting to learn whether the patch introduces any other changes/additions.
