Top-down spin-off PUBG Blindspot cancelled

In early 2025, Krafton officially announced PUBG: Blindspot, a new spin-off game, offering players a very different top-down tactical gameplay experience compared to the main battle royale game. Now after just a little time in early access, the game is shutting down.

PUBG: Blindspot did not take off after its Early Access launch in February. Less than two months on from the launch, Krafton has announced that the game is shutting down on March 30th and will receive no further updates.

PUBG: Blindspot was a top-down tactical shooter, offering vision-based tactical gameplay. The map design was based around giving players plenty of places to hide, forcing a tactical approach to clearing rooms and checking angles.

The game offered 5v5 PvP gameplay, with players being able to utilise a range of gadgets to help them on the battlefield.

PUBG Blindspot had garnered a mostly positive user score from those who had played it, but the game only ever peaked at around 3200 concurrent players and positive word of mouth did not lead to a huge influx of new players.

KitGuru Says: PUBG Blindspot looked interesting but fans of this style of game are typically looking for a solo or local co-op experience, rather than a hardcore PvP game.
