In an interesting fate for the system, Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro console has only been improving with age, thanks in part to the massive boost that was PSSR 2. Seemingly taking advantage of the pro console’s toolset, Ubisoft have detailed all of the PS5 Pro enhancements coming with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
Taking to the PlayStation blog, Ubisoft’s technical directors Nicolas Lopez and Jussi Markkanen spoke on all of the ways in which the team have taken advantage of the PS5 Pro to “deliver the best experience possible for players when the game launches on July 9.”
While a full technical breakdown can be found HERE, the primary improvements which PS5 Pro owners will be able to enjoy include the following:
- Ray-Traced Specular Reflections across all modes (limited to Fidelity and Balanced on base PS5)
- Expanded strand-based hair (affects Edward in all modes and nearby NPCs in Fidelity mode)
- PSSR 2 support for increased visual clarity
Ubisoft has been taking pretty good advantage of the PS5 Pro with its recent releases, and AC Black Flag Resynced looks to be no different. That said, PSSR aside, it will be interesting to see how different the game looks compared to its base version in the Fidelity and Balanced modes.
