Keychron teases 30g fingertip variant of the G6 HE gaming mouse

Keychron has teased a new fingertip variant of its G6 HE gaming mouse, chopping off the back of the shell to lower weight and create a more compact design.

The concept shared on X retains core features from the standard G6 HE, including MagOptic switches, programmable side buttons, a PAW3955 sensor, an 8K polling rate, tri-mode connectivity, and a removable battery. To balance the reduced frame, Keychron shifted the battery location forward within the shell. The target weight for the wireless configuration is roughly 30g, though running the mouse without its battery in wired mode could bring the weight down to 23g.

Keychron noted that it's currently gathering community feedback before tooling, meaning the design isn't finalised. Responses from users include requests for a pinky rest, lowered left and right click buttons, an asymmetrical shape, and attachment points for 3D-printed shape modifications. However, it's still unclear which of these will make it into the retail version.

KitGuru says: Chopping the back off a mouse to reach 30g while keeping swappable batteries might work, but it clearly isn't a mouse for everyone. It'll be interesting to see how much user feedback shapes the final product.
