Warcraft 3: Reforged gets major free update and new Forsaken Kingdom expansion

Warcraft 3: Reforged is finally getting a major update, including the first new RTS campaign for the Warcraft series in more than twenty years. Blizzard has announced a 3.0 overhaul for Reforged, alongside a brand‑new expansion.

Since the launch of World of Warcraft, Blizzard’s original RTS campaigns have largely been left behind. Warcraft 3: Reforged was intended to bring that era back, but the remaster did not meet fan expectations and sales suffered as a result.

Blizzard is now looking to set things right with the Warcraft 3: Reforged 3.0 update. The patch includes a graphical overhaul, performance improvements and a revamped World Editor for custom matches and modding.

Alongside the free update, Blizzard is releasing a new paid expansion: Warcraft 3: Forsaken Kingdom, the first new Warcraft RTS campaign since 2003. The expansion is already available through Battle.net.

KitGuru Says: Warcraft 3 has been overdue for meaningful support, so seeing Blizzard return to it with a full campaign is a welcome surprise. Will you be picking up the Forsaken Kingdom expansion?
