Injustice 3 seemingly leaked through playtest listing

It has been almost ten years since the release of Injustice 2 and despite occasional teasing from NetherRealm, we still don’t have our hands on Injustice 3. That may finally change in 2027, as a new playtest leak appears to confirm that the game is real.

The playtest appears to be hosted by the Good Gamers Group, which has since deleted the page, but not before sites like Kotaku spotted it. The test is set in Culver City, the same area where WB Games is headquartered, adding further credibility to the listing.

On top of that, EventHubs pointed out that NetherRealm has been hiring for a number of new positions over the past few months. Last year, the voice actors for Superman and Aquaman in the Injustice series also accidentally revealed their involvement in a new project, which many assumed was Injustice 3.

This isn’t the first time Injustice 3 has appeared in rumours. In fact, evidence uncovered earlier this year pointed towards the game being deep into development. However, the project has seemingly been pushed back several times as NetherRealm prioritised newer Mortal Kombat titles, but 2027 might finally be the year that changes.

Considering the lack of Batman games and the failure of Suicide Squad, Injustice 3 may end up being the only hope for a quality DC game for quite some time.

KitGuru Says: Injustice 3 has been rumoured for years, but this is the strongest sign yet that the game is real and getting close. If NetherRealm is finally ready to return to the series, 2027 could be a big year for DC fans.
