Beyond Good and Evil 2 gets another update

While there hasn't really been an official update on Beyond Good and Evil 2 in years, fans have been slowly piecing together evidence of progress for months. This time around, we are hearing directly from an active developer on the project.

Following on from a string of new job listings advertising various roles for the game in late 2025, Rik Godwin, Ubisoft Bordeaux's Associate Narrative Director, confirmed that he has been “working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 in a support / consultant role” for the past few months. According to Godwin, he's also not breaking any rules by sharing that.

It is the first time we've heard from someone actively involved in the game's development in years. Still, we aren't yet aware of how far along the project is, which isn't ideal, as we are eight years on from the game's huge 2018 reveal.

Still, there has been plenty of reason for longtime fans to have hope for the game this year. Maybe sometime next year, Ubisoft will finally be ready to say or show something official.
