Intel 24C/32T Raptor Lake processor emerges in early benchmark

Intel's 12th Gen Core “Alder Lake” processors have only been out for a month, but we're already starting to see benchmarks for next-generation “Raptor Lake” CPUs. This time around, an alleged 24C/32T 13th Gen Core processor has been spotted in a benchmark database. 

The benchmark result was found by @KOMACHI_ENSAKA on the Bapco's Crossmark database. The link was quickly taken down, but fortunately, the folks at Tom's Hardware were able to get a screenshot before the page was removed. This appears to be the result for an early engineering sample of this high-end Raptor Lake processor, with the system also using 32GB of DDR5-4800 memory.

As shown in the benchmark result, the processor features 24x physical cores and 32x threads. If we take previous rumours into account, these cores should be split between 16 E-cores and 8 P-cores.

Compared to the Core i9-12900K and the Ryzen 9 5950X, the Raptor Lake CPU underperformed, although the early sample did beat the 5950X in the ‘Creativity' test. Given that this is an early engineering sample and this processor is still roughly a year away from release, we expect to see considerable improvement in newer samples over the course of 2022.

Intel 13th Gen Core ‘Raptor Lake' processors are expected to debut in Q4 2022, based on the Intel 7 node and utilising the LGA1700 socket.

KitGuru says: It looks like we'll see another big jump in core counts from Intel's 13th Gen Core processors and we should see good competition from AMD too, with Zen 4 also coming next year.
